Rapid Response for Flood Defense
Enedis activated its emergency response teams as soon as flood warnings were issued by Météo France. The main goal of their operations is to ensure client safety while their second most important focus is the protection of essential equipment. The Aqua Barrière functioned as a vital component of their flood prevention strategy because it served as a strong protective barrier.
The underground facility above the Alma transformation station ensures electrical supply for more than 80,000 customers in Paris's 7th and 8th arrondissements. Its geographical position puts it at high risk of flooding damage during severe weather conditions. Enedis constructed a 230-meter flood wall barrier standing 2 meters tall to protect vital power infrastructure from increasing floodwater levels.
Proven Performance in Real Conditions
This installation wasn’t just a theoretical exercise. The system demonstrated its operational capability during the "Sequana" drill which took place earlier this year. Despite predictions of water levels reaching only 6 meters below the alert level of 6.5 meters Enedis elected to activate the barrier system to maximize protective measures.
