This deployment was a pivotal component of the Godalming Flood Alleviation Scheme, which was officially unveiled by Jeremy Hunt MP and the Chair of the Environment Agency, Emma Howard-Boyd.

The scheme's comprehensive approach includes a 525m permanent flood wall designed to reduce the threat of flooding from the river Wey. This protective measure has been instrumental in ensuring the safety of 90 properties in the Meadrow and Catteshall areas. Moreover, the integration of two pumping stations, with a combined output of 84 litres per second, underscores the robustness of the scheme.

The Geodesign Heavy Duty C122 Flood Barrier plays a significant role when required, closing the gap across the Catteshall road bridge. This barrier stands out due to its user-friendly features. It comes with 'snap-on' locking mechanisms tailored for the horizontal connection rods, the aluminium sheets, and the security rod in the bottom beam of the support structure. Such features simplify the deployment process, saving teams both time and effort.

Ensuring a perfect fit, the barrier uses two wall attachments to span from one side of the road to the other seamlessly. Recognizing the challenges posed by pavement kerbs, the barrier's design includes adjustable sections, underlining its adaptability and thorough approach to flood prevention.
